The IndigeLab Network is seeking a part-time employee to support data-informed content creation across our social media platforms and website.
Position: Social Media & Content Creator
Hours: Part-time, about 30 hours/month, flexible
Pay: $18.65/hr to $31.50/hr depending on experience (determined by HR)
Start Date: As soon as possible, open until filled. If this ad is up, the position is still available
Role Overview
You will help create engaging, accessible, and community-aligned content that reflects the values and ongoing work of the IndigeLab Network. This includes transforming information from our resource bundles, working groups, events, and research into posts, visuals, and short updates for multiple social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create regular content (text, images, short videos) based on IN events, working groups, and data-related initiatives
- Tailor posts for different social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, X, Bluesky, Instagram)
- Update the website (WordPress)
- Work independently to plan and produce content with minimal supervision
- Work with IN staff to ensure content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with IN’s communication values
- Track engagement and suggest improvements based on analytics
- Assist with organizing and scheduling content
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience creating content for social media platforms
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised while meeting deadlines
- Creative thinking and initiative in developing content ideas
- Familiarity with Indigenous research methodologies and community-based research approaches is an asset
Must be eligible to work in Canada
